We pulled 20 live US Google result pages for the category and comparison keywords Trigger.dev's buyers type, and checked who Google's AI answers cite. Reddit is on page 1 for almost all of them, and the only Reddit thread about Trigger.dev that ranks is the company's own launch post from October 2023.
52 of those 100 keywords are branded ("trigger dev", "trigger.dev pricing", "trigger.dev docs"). The rest are docs pages (43 URLs under /docs), blog posts (12) and four /vs pages. The single largest row, "triggerid" at rank 16 (60,500 searches), is unrelated noise.
Non-brand wins are docs- and blog-led: "dev task" #6 (590/mo, /docs/tasks/overview), "claude worktrees" #7 (720/mo, /blog/parallel-agents-gitbutler), "supabase edge functions" #8 (720/mo), "github action trigger" #4 (320/mo), "temporal alternatives" #8 (170/mo, /vs/temporal), "dev agents" #11 (1,600/mo), "openai/agents sdk typescript" #8 (140/mo).
Category keywords (background jobs, cron, long-running tasks, durable execution, job queue, workflow orchestration, AI agent framework) are almost entirely absent. Google puts a Reddit thread on page 1 for every one of them.

Who fills the gap where trigger.dev is absent: Inngest ranks organically on "background jobs nextjs" (#6), "vercel long running tasks" (#5 and #8), "durable execution" (#5), "inngest alternatives" (#2), "vercel serverless function timeout" (#9) and "temporal vs inngest" (#1). Temporal ranks #2 on "durable execution". DBOS #3 on "background jobs nextjs". Mastra #1 on "ai agent framework typescript" and #4 on "workflow orchestration typescript". Vercel Workflows #3 on "vercel long running tasks".
Page-2 note: on "trigger.dev alternatives" the r/node thread sits at #7 behind trigger.dev's own /vs page. It is the only Reddit result on that SERP, and its top comment favours Inngest.
The one Reddit thread that ranks for four keywords ("inngest alternatives", "trigger.dev vs inngest", "inngest vs trigger.dev", "trigger.dev alternatives") is the r/node "Inngest pricing model" thread from November 2023. The original poster compares Inngest, Trigger.dev, Defer, Mergent, Zeplo and Restate and concludes Inngest "stands out". Nobody from Trigger.dev has answered it.

Fresh, third-party Reddit threads where developers describe running Trigger.dev in production would give both Google AI and ChatGPT an independent source to cite.
